Strengthen Amateur Radio
Our amateur radio community is growing fast, and with more new operators comes a greater need for Volunteer Examiners (VEs). By becoming a VE, you help ensure that testing remains accessible, reliable, and welcoming for everyone across Wyoming and beyond.
Whether you’re passionate about mentoring new hams, supporting local clubs, or simply giving back to the hobby, serving as a VE is one of the most meaningful ways to make an impact.
Why Become a VE?
- Support new and upgrading amateur radio operators
- Strengthen local clubs and statewide testing availability
- Help maintain a reliable, volunteer-driven licensing system
- Join a friendly, experienced team dedicated to service
- Participate in in‑person or remote exam sessions
What You Need
- A valid General, Advanced, or Extra class license
- Completion of a short online certification (usually 20–30 minutes)
- A willingness to help at occasional exam sessions
No long-term commitments or minimum hours required.
How We Support You
- Step‑by‑step guidance through the certification process
- Clear instructions for your first exam session
- A supportive team ready to answer questions
- Opportunities to help not only statewide but nationally!
Let’s have fun!
